Subject: Important: Barnard is moving to UVLists as Barnard-Discuss
Hello,
On 10/27/2026, Barnard will move from Vital Communities to UVLists, the volunteer-run nonprofit taking responsibility for Upper Valley community email lists.
As part of the move, the list is being renamed from Barnard to Barnard-Discuss. This is the same Barnard community list; its name, address, and service provider are changing.
What this means for you
- You do not need to subscribe again. Unless you unsubscribe from the existing Barnard list by 10/27/2026, we will transfer your subscription to the new list.
- We will preserve your individual-message or digest delivery preference.
- Continue using barnard@lists.vitalcommunities.org until the move. Beginning on 10/27/2026, send messages to barnard-discuss@lists.uvlists.org.
- You will receive a final notice from the old list and then a welcome message from the new list.
How to opt out of the transfer
If you do not want your subscription moved to UVLists, unsubscribe from the existing Barnard list by 10/27/2026. Unsubscribing from the existing list is what tells us not to transfer your subscription.
Using the old list's web interface
1. Open the unsubscribe page:
https://lists.vitalcommunities.org/lists/signoff/barnard
2. Enter the email address that is subscribed to the old list.
3. Follow the instructions on the page and complete any confirmation step.
By email
1. From the email address that is subscribed to the old list, send a blank message to:
barnard-unsubscribe@lists.vitalcommunities.org
2. If you receive a confirmation request, follow its instructions to finish unsubscribing.
Anyone who unsubscribes from the existing list by the deadline will not be transferred. You may also unsubscribe from the new list at any time after the move.
Please add barnard-discuss@lists.uvlists.org to your contacts, but do not use it until the transition is complete.
